What ever happened to Fast Fred. I know Ace missess him.C Fred

Ncbob

Fast Fred is out there...he's on a trip at the moment...but I'm sure he's reading (not really lurking) and digesting everything both here and on the BNO board.

For those of you who don't know Fred, and I honestly have to admit I don't (although I've tried to make a personal contact with him)
when he's ready to offer a bit of advice, qualified with a DIYW, he'll be here.

Fast Fred is one of those personalities who, in my humble opinion, has a wealth of knowledge, worlds of experience, is a very confident person in and of himself and speaks when he feels the time is right.

FWIW,

Bob

Fred,

I heard he was on a boat trip and he made a comment prior to that he didn't like the new MAK

or BNO boards style/format (If I remember correctly) said something about e-mailing him if they changed back.

Who Knows! ;D

Anyway, Glad your here!

Where in the world is that, Ed?   Sounds like F/F is getting to be a world traveler....and I thought he retired from International flights!

He is still posting on the boat boards.

Fred quickly became one of my favorite posters as I dug into the BNO archives. I wish we heard more from him.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, a good Reisling in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming:  WOO HOO, what a ride

Yeah, FF's a good guy. I really enjoy his posts and his depth of experience and knowledge. He's a boat guy, and really knows how to bring those concepts of small-footprint living to the coach conversion world.

Now, he does rub some people the wrong way, because he's very opinionated, esp. when it comes to:

Automatic transmissions
"slushbox fuel-wasters"
Rooftop air units "carbuncles"
Modern conversions "50,000 pound beheemoths for the Corian crowd"
Comm'l. campgrounds: "treeless wastelands"
Mod. Sine inverters: "chop chop chop"
eastern US mountain ranges "speedbumps"

He's also very partial to GMC (and who could blame him ;D).

However, his favorite saying, and words to live by are, "Do it YOUR way."

Gads, I sure miss FF!

For whatever reason? it seems Fred does not participate on any board that requires you to register.

I really like the registered board.
Far better is it to dare mighty things,to win glorious triumphs, even though they may be checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.  Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919)
