Libby lost her mom today, she was 85, she passed away at home quietly in her sleep, libby is not dealing with it well, she was very close to her mom, her mom's health had been failing steadily for several months and was at home under the help of a hostice nurse.

Libby's mom had a good long run at it.  While it's always sad to lose the company of a parent, she apparently had a long life with a daughter she enjoyed.  It must have been time to go home.

Our condolences to Libby and you.

I know there is nothing that will ease the pain right now. But you both will be in our prayers for comfort and the healing that comes through the grief process.  And as time passes, the pain of loss becomes more bearable until you reach a point where you truly can remember the happy times and only occaisionally be overcome by sadness.  With your help and all the prayers that are going out for you guys, she will make it through to the happy memories.

I apreciate the kind thoughts, yesterday when we recieved word of her moms death, I took libby to her moms house so she could sit with her for a while longer before they took her away, libby is understandably upset and it was a long sleepless night of phone calls to reasure her that the sun would in fact come up again, arrangements are still unclear but it appears that the family will be assembling for the funeral up here on wednsday or thurday, her family is scattered all over the place, then burial will take place in tennessee where her mom is from, in the family cemetary next to her mom and dad in the nashville area.  Thats all we know so far.  Her mom had made her peace with God last week so apparently she was much more prepared for this that the rest of us were.

Bryce, the way it looks at this point is that libby's sister will be bringing up their van, and that after the funeral I'll load up libbys step dad (he is 85)in the truck and libby will ride with her sister and family to peoria, with us folowing in the truck, we'll all stay over at her sisters then we'll follow them to nashville, they said it's 6 hours from peoria, what route or at what speed that is, I don't know.  After the burial libby may return to peoria with her sister or stay with her step dad and me, I don't know yet.  Her step dad is from the lagardo are, (next farm over from where libbys mom grew up), lagardo has now been absorbed by lebanon and doesn't exist anymore but her step dad said he would like to take a couple of days to visit his sister, she's 93 and some other relatives, I'd like him to show us around the area cause he is one of the last survivors to remember where everything is or was and I think it would be good for libby to see it again, she was a baby the last time she was on the family farm.  After all this settles down we're going to ask libbys step dad if he'd like to move in with us, we certainly have the extra room and he is more than welcome, I think he may enjoy what little traveling we might be able to do and he will certainly be a great help to me with my chores and stuff.
