Well Miss Julie and I reluctantly left the rally to meet up with family at lake Somerville.  I met up with some super people.  I thank you all for a gracious welcome.  The banana pudding was sinfully delicious.  No doubt it was not a box recipe.  The next rally we intend to be the first there and the last to leave.  Cat and Dallas we thank you both for having us.

Everyone except Matt and Liz left about an hour ago.The campground is just too quiet now.  We had such a wonderful time getting to know each other and put faces to screen names.  We had 6 buses and 2 come without a bus and everyone got along great.  Jeff brought his smoker and did some cooking for us and Rod brought Red beans and rice with banana pudding to top it off. We also had some really yummy sides to be sure no one went hungry. The kids roasted giant marshmallows over the fire today.  Liz worked so hard decorating and pulling things together and we could not have done this without her and Matt.  We have tons of food left over so there will be no cooking needed here for days.  The campground owners came and were so impressed with everyone and the buses.  We hate that everyone that wanted to couldn't make it and my big regret is that it ended.  We are exhausted but had so much fun we just didn't want it to end.  Hopefully Dallas and some of the others will get some pics up soon.

We arrived back home about 30 minites ago. Everything went well on the trip down and back, about 600 miles.

We had such a great time seeing some old friends and meeting new ones.

Dallas and Cat had so much food I'm thinking our diet will start tomorrow, after our Blue Bell tonight! ;D

Thanks so much you guys for making us all feel at home, we had a wonderful time.

Hoping to see everyone at TBR 2010!

We made it back about 7pm. We stopped for about an hour outside of Durant, OK. Had a sandwich, checked the oil and ran her across the scales since it was right there and I was curious. No wonder she is such a hot rod  ;), weighed 23,300.

Unloaded Ole Blue, tucked her in the shop, gave her a pat on the dash and told her thanks for a great trip.  ;D We all had a great time getting to know everyone and definitely got our bellies full  ;D I would have loved to just keep driving past our exit but just not enough money in the bank yet, lol.

Sorry again about the almost grass fire Cat. Gotta watch them rugrats, lol. We are looking forward to getting together with everyone again.

Thanks everyone that worked hard to put things together.

I'm glad you guys made it home safely.

Bryan, don't worry about the fire. The kids were just being kids and everything worked out.

Paul....you should see what food is left.  We still have one pork butt and another brisket.  Matt,Liz, Dallas and I had some for lunch and again tonight and invited one of our full timers to eat with us.

I love getting together with bus nuts because we are one awesome group of human beings.

Cat & Dallas,

We really had a great time, plenty of food and some great busnuts. Enjoyed putting a face to the names. I really love what some have done to the interiors of their buses. Hope to see all at TBR 2010.

Cat & Dallas,

Great rally!!!! Arrived home about 2:30 sunday afternoon, had a bite to eat, unloaded the bus and had my after dinner nap. Really enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting and making new ones. Loved seeing what everyones doing to their buses. Food was Great and as usual I ate more than I should have. However Cat I lost 4 lbs. I think it was the donuts, fudge,or maybe the homemade bannana pudding. Didn't make any difference, Missy has already taken away all my goodies. I'm so mistreated!!! Looking forward to the next rally, probably TBR 2010. OK, back to the old grind. We really had a good time!!! Love those Buses....

Oh no!!!  Not now.  We have to wait.  My retirement is set up like the rest of them.  I am in the paying years right now.  Over the next 6 years it will increase much faster than in the starting years.  6 more and the plug is coiming out of that bucket.  I don't want to bite off that far to be honest.  I can see selling the house and acres we live on.  Then going to Northwest Ok or the Texas Panhandle and finding a 1 acre fixer upper home.  That way in a days ride we can be in Colorado, Arizona, ect.  A day and a half we can be at either coast or either border.  The county we live in is growing so fast the property taxes are kicking us in the teeth.  THe value of the home is skyrocketing and will make it great to sell it and pay cash for a fixer upper.  6 years, 6 years is all I gotta keep telling myself.

Sounds like a well thought out plan. Just don't forget the plan when it comes time! ;D

Our decision to full time came up fast when I lost my job. It was in our future, but now we don't have to wait! It's great, no lawn to mow, just keep feeding the DD! ;)
