Tire question

In the event of a flat without a spare available, would it be safe to limp along a bit with one of the dual tires missing?  If so, what would you say the speed and distance limits are.  Thanks

I thought the preferred method was to chain the tag up and remove  that one.  I'm quite sure others will chime in though

If it is one of the duals that blew, I would blow up the good tire to at least the maximum listed pressure on the side of the tire (typically 110psi with a 14 ply and 120psi with a 16 ply), and continue down the road at no faster then 40mph.  I've done this dozens of times when I was driving cross country truck and never had a problem.  Always keep your front tires in tip top shape.  Check all your tires by tire gauge at least once a week, or have a good electronic wireless system (like PressurePro) that tells you the pressure of each tire.  Low tire pressure is the number one cause of premature tire wear and failure.  Good Luck, TomC

I agree with Tom, our buses are usually so lightly loaded compared to a bus full of passengers that riding on one should be no problem.

I've done it a few times with no problems but my bus is a lightweight.
