Hi,

We thought our oil filter was leaking.  It turns out it is the gasket under the box with the three adjusting screws.  Has anyone had to take this off before?  We we afraid to just take it off for fear of messing with the adjustments.  We could also use a parts manual and a service manual for this.  Onan Diesel Quiet 7.5K  model HDKAJ.

You have to resize it to no more than 128 KB, or you could follow the topic below and use Photobucket. That way you can post larger sizes and it's very easy.

Now I'm really feeling dumb.  I tried it with Photobucket,  the address showed before I posted.  One more time.

Sorry I looked at mine and it must be older. It does not have that box. Did you try to remove the plastic cover? Maybe you will see more.  Tom Y

That appears to be a Kubota engine. That is the area that the throttle and shut down solenoid are. No problems to repair. Be carefull that the throttle springs are not disconnected. They have a large hoook on each end and normally won't come off. The machined surface next to the "box" have a modle and serial #. i.e. d602-59878 ect. Post that number and i"ll point you to parts picture.

So far we got the cap off, the four screws that hold the stator on out, and the adjuster screws let out.  It is loose, but will not lift off.  There has to be something else holding the stator on the shaft.  There is a little set screw on the shaft, but we don't want to mess with that unless we know what will  happen. Hope you have a good picture.  Thanks

Same engine in Kubota g1900 tractor. Get on computer, go to www.messicks.com,  click Kubota parts. on right side put in model area,g1900.  when list comes up click on engine. scroll down to  Speed Control plate. Should show your setup with out electric shut off.  I could not get picture to load to send you.

This is the speed control governor.  It looks different on the  generator, it is automatically controlled.  It is the same engine though.
