We hooked up Stormcloud at the Q rally and went over a game plan to power our large house (24+cft) side by side frig/freezer with a $40.00 (HF) 750/1,500watt inverter. With the unit drawing 11.2 amps, Mark felt that we needed to disable the auto defrost. To do this we bought a 2 way switch and installed it so we could turn it off when on the inveter and on when hooked to shore or Genny power. We then wired the frig directly to the inverter. The frig started up and ran perfectly. DanC, a frig guy, came by and gave it a thumbs up!
The small inverter did its job the whole weekend and the drive home. Thank you Mark (Stormcloud), Your the Best, M&C & Mrs.Jones ;D

Michael,

If that's an expensive fridge, you might want to double check the output waveform of that inverter.  Course-step inverters (MSW) will, over time, damage the compressor in the fridge, and could even start a fire there.
