Nellie Wilson

Hi to everyone,

I've been scrolling around for a while through this board and thought it was time to introduce myself to all of you. :)

My name is Viviane (a/k/a Nellie Wilson), and I full-time in my 1977 MC5-C though I'm far from 'independent'... or self-sufficient, self-contained or whatever you wish to call it (some might say 'deprived?'). As Mike (Sullivan) puts it, I jump from plug to plug – especially in weather like this! But one thing at a time, right?

I'm (obviously) brand new to this board, and relatively new to the world of bussing, though I've been posting on Ian Giffin's board (BNO) for quite awhile. If you're curious, just scroll around over there for the gal in the cowboy hat. But I see many of the same names here as over there, so you may be familiar with my nonsense (maybe you even come over here to escape my blathering?  ;D).

Anyway, I just had the privilege of participating in Bussin' 10 (Jack's well-known rally), and met several people that I recognize here; salutations to you all!

I just put a little video on You Tube – rather than re-write my whole 'intro' I'll just copy what I posted on BNO:

"Here's part of a video taken on New Year's Eve at the rally in Arcadia... and many thanks to Tom Mason (White Eagle) for the loan of his camera.

New Year's Bussin '10

If you look closely, you'll see Jack & Paula, Tom & Fran, Marty (high steppin' to "It's 5 O'clock Somewhere") and some other 'nutters' whose names I can't recall (but which you probably will). And, of course, there's my trusty old bus in the background.

Got more footage but figured that 'New Year Moment' was what you'd most enjoy.

Plus, I took a lot of photos of fun times and beautiful buses - not so professional as Wendy's (great stuff, Wendy!) but I'll post some anyway. Man, these rigs make me feel like the poor cousin from the sticks.

Now I'm back at Jack's, eavesdropping on the BYOB discussions and instruction - learning a lot just by hanging out. Some pretty cool people here, and it's fun to put a face with familiar names on the board.

Well, I have much more to report but (yawn) it'll have to wait. Maybe tomorrow?

Miss you guys... wish you'd all been able to attend. It was wonderful!

Nellie Wilson"

Glad to be aboard and thanks for having me. W.C Fields once said, "I wouldn't join a club that would have me as a member." But I would... and gladly!

Welcome, Ms. Nelllie - I found this place just a few months ago, and have felt welcomed beyond my wildest dreams (and some of them are).

Enjoy, and looking forward to meeting you, as well as others with whom I have talked onthis board.

For some, patience is a virtue.
Dealing with me, it is required.
Thank God - He is always patient.

That's OK, Viviane might not be able to read it either -- my French is very rusty (like, umm, 35 years of rust), and it's Parisian French anyway, which is different from Quebecois...

It just goes to show how the mind can play games on a person, so many of the crew I remember but what happened? they got old, why didn't I, just isn't fair is it, here I sit again a young pup in the middle of the old people lol.  That same thing happened to the people I graduated high school with, I just visited one in a nursing home, what went wrong here will I never age? geeeeze.  Forgive my young purty thingness.

Viviane,

Welcome to the "Other" board..... ;D

I have enjoyed reading of your adventures on BNO and look forward to your participation here.

It sure looked and sounds as if everyone had a good time at Bussin 2010.

Welcome aboard Viviane!  Glad to have you over here too.  Just as two heads are better than one, the wisdom shared in two boards is better than one.
