Some people do tile or wood and i have seen one that the stairs and side walls were all done in diamond plate.

John,

I just had a thread on this....Here is the link. http://www.busconversions.com/bbs/index.php?topic=14058.0

We are doing carpet on ours. It is a commercial indoor/outdoor carpet. We were concerned about things getting slippery, so we are going to try the carpet. It is nice looking stuff.

God bless,

John

We completely removed the OEM steps (3 steps) and builkt new steps from scratch (4 steps). This changed the rise per step from approx. 9" to approx 7" making it much easier for my wife to go up the steps. I found that I also like the shorter rise. We then covered the steps with ceramic tile and oak bullnoses.  We installed rope lighting in a slot in the bottom of the bullnoses.  Jack

We went the cheaper route and just covered the original with tile and carpet. Sorry for the mess, it was taken right after I completed them.

I've been in jacks bus on many occasions, that extra step is priceless, at some point in the distant future I'd like to change ours to the extra step, for anyone with bad knees, having to pull yourself up taller steps is a painfull process.
