Hi Guy's and Gal's out there . Is there any thoughts on which doors are prefered on a bus conversion. Cafe or fold up ( I know iam bored and it's cold outside) I kind of like the fold up and how that's what came with most of the Buses . I have Cafe style and there nice but sometimes I think about what it would be like to have the original doors. Ok Iam done Thanks Andy

My doors slide out and up.  The mechanisms take up room inside the cargo bays so the bay cannot be completely full.  I would prefer cafe doors but don't have the skills or time to build them.  I just live with what I have.  They aren't that bad.

Thanks   ;D I never thought about the mechanisms and that they would take up room.

Hi Andy,

I always heard from alot of folks who have S&S with cafe style compartment doors  that there is

always that Tree, or Electric post in the campsite that is in the way of opening up the doors...

Just a thought!

....and, you don't need a hard hat to go into the bay.

I agree with Belfert. The mechanisms cause some loss of use in the bay.

I also agree with Nick about the trees and power posts.

I'd really like to have a roll up door on my bays.  :D

Andy, all of the doors have draw backs the cafe doors look the best on a Eagle(IMHO) and you don't have the hinge to worry about but I chose to stay with original style they don't give any problems with the correct lifts and the right hinge materail my hinges are 15 years old living in the AZ heat.
Sonnie Gray is building the best door setup they only take up 2 inches on the outside when opened to the top without all the mechanisms in the way and with a 100% opening plus they have no latches.

good luck
