Good idea BK. Two birds with one stone method. New truck for me, new buses for you. I didn't say that out loud did I? :)

Randy and Michelle,

(Randy and Michelle have been long time members of Converted Coach Owners, CCO, and are now Randy is the president of the bus club.)

Wow.  You are very blessed.

We say, "It can not happen to us."     It could have been your house AND bus AND SUV !

None of us really are immune.  I am not an insurance agent, but, I preach about buying "agreed upon value" bus insurance and replacement value home insurance.  For those reading this - please consider it.

Wow!   Makes me wonder why these cruise controls don't blow their fuses first  -  did Ford (Where Quality Is Number One) actually fuse them at all?   My car had a recall a few years ago for wiring insulation that could get damaged.   I hope Ford does the right thing for you.

I'm thankful I've got a Cole-Hersee master switch for my bus's starting batteries:  I always turn it off every time I park the bus.   Too bad that cars don't have similar master switches, presumably because all their electronics have to stay energized.

Good question, Iceni John.  Why doesn't the fuse blow?  Glad that my Ford Taurus Crossover X isn't on the list, . . . yet.

Wow!  Amy and I are glad you are all right and that the minor damage to bus and basketball net are the extent of the collateral damage!  We are definitely looking forward to seeing you and Michelle this summer.

The problem is in the switch that is mounted to the brake master cylinder. It is supposed to detect when you step on the brakes and turn the cruise off.

The switch develops a leak to the brake fluid. The fluid causes corrosion that leads to shorts and heat and fire.

I had a very interesting conversation with an insurance fire examiner about this issue.  At the time (the Jan the tsunami in Indonesia occurred) Ford had not acknowledged the issue and this guy was saying it was a big deal.
