on the road in Oklahoma...my air operated throttle is sticking in the open position... when I let off the accelerator, it gradually releases. I shot WD40 on the linkage.   Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

It is possible that the air has enough water to freeze. I'm 100 miles south of you and it is 32 degrees here. Not enough info as to your tanks being drained or have dryier on yor air system.

I do have a helper spring... I am inclined to agree with the idea of ice. When I arrive in Ponca City, I am going to check into draining the tank. I also heard about adding alcohol to the tank...any ideas on how much I need to add and where to add it?

most truck stops( real Ones) will have a product for this purpose. I think it is called heet. Getting it in is a slight problem. My engine has a "mason" type plastic bottle near air compressor. If you don't, you will have to disconnect the large air line from compressor and pour into system, Not into compressor. I hope this helps.

I should mention, give us more info as to type of bus, engine type, age, dec or not. This would help with diagnoses. Later.

Wayne, you have 4 tanks and they have auto drains which never work so you may have to remove those to drain the tanks.
Check the battery door on the drivers side and the air dryer should be there on your model 10 if all else fails build the air up and listen if it pops off you have a dryer in there somewhere but with Eagle you never know where they put it, service it and make sure you have power and it should be good to go.
Clean the breather on the foot pedal also
Call if you need help I'll be glad to help you for a pheasant LOL I don't have pheasants but plenty of quail here

Wal,

Just be careful if you have a AD9 dryer. Ours, at least, has a heater in it. I know of a bus that burned to the ground, because they added alcohol to the lines, it hit the heater, and it burned.

MCI tech support has told me, if you have to add alcohol, add it after the dryer (it seems to me that the dryer would remove it anyways).

FWIW

Hope you get rolling...

Oh, yes. Have you replaced the cartridge in the dryer? If not, I would start there, then dry out all of the lines.

God bless,

John

Thanks Paul! But in my twisted little mind, I always thought it'd be nice of the person who had the problem to update folks afterwords so we ALL could learn a little more as we read what worked or didn't for others!
