I took the short drive up Hyw 6 to Guelph today and visited Ken at his shop.  We spent a pleasant hour out in light rain and a very muddy lot and pulled the  Spicer 8844A off the back of the engine he took out of his parts bus, and popped it in the back of my pickup.  Now I at the least have a Spicer to take apart and look at to see how it works, and at the worst have a rebuildable core for a spare should the one in the bus give me troubles!
