I got home last night 1310 miles from Texas filled up the tanks level full about 2 miles from home took 178.2 gals I averaged over 7 mpg driving the speed limit across 3 states but I do think the wind and the 80 MPH speed limit in Texas cost me a little fuel  not bad for a old 8v92 2 stroke guys .

good luck

Clifford,

Glad you are back. We missed your not being on here all of the time 8).

Good fuel mileage!

BTW, did you get my PM about alignment?

God bless,

John

That's pretty good Clifford - especially considering you are measuring against those wimpy US gallons.  I've been lucky to see much over 6 MPG (measured in real gallons) lately but that includes a lot of ProHeat time.  Plus the vendors up here have been selling watered down winter fuel since about the middle of Sept.  Looking forward to getting back to real diesel fuel in a couple more weeks.  (and getting away from running the heater)

The last thing I would ever want to do is hurt you.
Its the last thing but its still on the list.

Bring it on Bob you know you can park here plus no ProHeat needed and the French bus won't have as many Eagles around it now no need for a escape route LOL.
I need to warn you if you make your shrimp we may have visitors if the word get's out

Hey Clifford,

What does your Eagle weigh?

Sounds like pretty good mpg knowing your heavy foot! ;D

Cliff,

That is great and unbeatable with my 5C, ( 6V92TA w/ 92(?) injectors) But I did slow down to an average of 63 mph and averaged 7.4 MPG over 2,500 miles. This is nearly a 20% increase in fuel efficiency, slowing down.

My days of driving at 70-72 are over. It takes me another hour of driving per day to make up for the slower speed to travel the same distance, but I am less stressed at the lower speed, hugging the white line of the right lane.

First leg of our migration south in our 5A with 8V71 and auto tranny.  680 miles, 94 gallons, 7.23 mpg.  Second leg,  688 miles, 84.5 gallons, 8.14 mpg. Third leg, 442 miles. Don't know how many gallons or the mpg because i haven't filled up since we got here. :)  The average for the first two legs which totaled 1368 miles was 7.66 mpg........route was from Wa. to Or. to Id. to Ut. to Co. to Az.  Seemed like we did a lot of climbing at slow speeds, but we also did a lot of 70-75 mph stretches.

I normally get over 7 and close to 8 without the toad. With the toad coming down to Yuma over the high country and running Bus A/C got 6.8 for a thousand miles . Jerry

Clifford,

I just sent you a PM regarding pull down shades for coaches. I am shopping around for some of them.

Thanks

Bobsw,  No wind at all until we got to Gila Bend headed to Yuma and then we had a strong head wind most of the rest of the way and i could only do about 60-63 mph. >:(

We have traveled almost 4800 miles so far on this trip with our "new" engine towing our Jeep Grand Cherokee.  We have averaged 6.4 MPG. This is traveling through 14 states including east coast mountains.

We did 7,000 miles, last trip, 16 states, and we averaged 7.2 mpg.

We stayed at a CG twice, and camp wally world the rest of the time.

Worked well for us.
