Well I'm accompanying my buddy Troy to Alabama to inspect and most likely take ownership of a 10S 6V92TA. So with any luck, anybody between Muscle Shoals, AL and Minneapolis may have an Eagle sighting Thursday or Friday. He sold his schoolie and has been looking at Eagles since last winter.

We'll see how she looks and how it sounds when I do the Gumpydog thump on the sides. The PO skinned it, insulated, installed windows, new shiney ALcoas and tires and removed the interior and started installing a new interior. Seems like a good start for what will end up being his Nascar bus. I tried talking him into MCI but he really likes Eagles. Ho hum.......

Fred

P.S. dang things are starting to grow on me.

P.P.S BK too bad you're so far off the interstate. I'd love to swing thru but we got to get back for Trick or Treating with the kids.

Hey Fred!

We will be travelling from Fort Walton Beach, FL to Talladega, AL Thursday night/Friday morning to spend the weekend at the races.  We will be in the MCI, but will keep a look at for any Eagles.  I will wave real big if I see you.

After spending the morning with Bryce, the 6V92 started loosing power about two hours later. We changed filters and the Eagle started screaming again. We're in Columbia Missouri tonight.

Bryce did you bill us right for those three squirts of grease you put in it? Troy thought $1,000.00 seemed kinda high!

Seriously thanks for servicing the bus for us and the consulting and for the service call from the road today. I suppose we could call Don Fairchild with any questions tomorrow.

From here we go north up into Iowa and catch I-35 in Des Moines. Apparently it's snowing back home. Yipee!

We arrived home at 4:00 Saturday after an uneventful (but windy) 500 mile day. The 6V92t ran great and the tranny behaves as expected.

I don't want to open a can of worms here, but now that I've actually driven an Eagle 800 miles I am starting see what all these Eagle guys are talking about. Comparing the ride and handling of this Eagle 10S with that of my MC-5 is like comparing a Cadillac Fleetwood to a farm truck. The side winds yesterday kept me focused on staying in the lane all the time but there was no body roll like I'm accustomed to in the -5. (maybe I need to repalce rear shocks). The steering is a lot different too. Is that the difference between integral and power assisted steering?

Troy will have quite a bit of welding to do on the Eagle after he removes the AC condenser and heater core. The place where the torsion bars from the rear axle anchor to the bottom of the coach is pretty rotted out. And a few of the bay door verticals need beefing up but otherwise, she looks pretty sound.

Once Troy figures out how to get signed up here on the board, I'll let you all know who he is becuase he is a huge Eagle fan and now he needs to learn about what he bought.

yep Fred and you will find the Eagles with the boggies more stable than the 10s in the wind  glad you guys had a safe trip back.

Fred glad to hear it made it home safe & sound! Also glad changing the filters was all it took to be able to Fly" again (I remember someone say "Oh crap I'm doing 78 mph, I'd better back it down a little!" during the progress report on the phone! ;D)

One thing the remember is the Eagles had the best ride in the bus world bar none with the torsalastics until Setra refined it and now has the best ride period ;D !

Also without the airbag suspension you don't get the topsy tippy feeling like ya do in an MCI, Prevost, and yes even some Setra's!

By the way we need PICTURES! I didn't have my camera on me and didn't take the time to swim up to the house to get it, since the ducks were so busy playing in the row boat with their "slickers" on while you were here! ;D  (and I told you the farther N you went the rain would turn into snow too! ;D )
