Last weekend before a taking the grandkids and their friends to Cedar Point Amusement Park "HalloWeeks" I was checking everything over and noticed that my Hazard Lights would just glow when I first turned them on. After about 30 seconds all was well. I could not figure it out, but I assumed I had a ground problem somewhere.

The next day I was trying to determine where the problem was and eventually found one of the side lights was half full (or half empty) of water, partially covering the bulbs. I took the cover off, wiped things dry and sprayed everything with WD-40. I did the same with all the side lights. Everything seemed good. The next day I put the hazard lights on for about 30 minutes and noticed it would occasionally stop flashing, then glow, then go out and then start flashing again. I took the covers off again and thought that maybe the grease that was around the bulb socket was contaminated with too much water, allowing them to ground out. I removed all the bulbs, wiped all the grease off and re-sprayed with WD-40. It seems to be okay.

So I guess it was time to re-grease the bulb sockets on my 19 year old bus. That's the story I'm sticking with.

Anyone else have similar electrical water gremlins?

The light sockets on my lights in the front and rear were all corroded.  The lights would randomly fail and removing and reinserting them would fix for a while.  I didn't see any water, but corrosion was still present.

I finally got fed up with the lights and installed all new LED lights front and rear.  I covered over the old lights.  I keep meaning to take a picture of the LED lighting to post here, but it never gets done.
