Has anyone used a Remco Transmission Lube Pump for towing a car four-wheels down?

What has been your experience?  Was it reliable and could you monitor it from the bus?

Would appreciate your input as I am looking at some vehicles that are not towable 4 down.

Thanks

Although we do not use a Remco pump (our Grand Cherokee does not require it), I know several people that use them.  I have not heard of any problems.  Jack

You will need to check with Remco as the pump does NOT work with all vehicles.

Thanks for your input.  I have been reading both pros and cons on different boards.  Seems that some have had the pump quit and the transmission ruined.  Others love them.  Decision time!

Thanks again.

Any pump can fail.  I would not have a problem using the Remco but I would want some kind of alarm up front to be sure is is working, maybe as simple as an oil pressure switch.

My friends shop installs them and they are very reliable.  His installs always include a low pressure alarm that sounds in the coach.

There was a system a few years ago where you could over fill the transmission for towing.  When you wanted to drive the car, it would store the excess fluid in a reservoir of some kind.  Don't know if that would work with the newer transmissions.

Most of the Ford Windstars cannot use a pump. Don't assume it will work check with Remco.
