If a title you submit is chosen and you were the first one to submit it here in this thread, you get 3 free months of BCM. (if you already are subscribed, we'll add 3 months to your subscription, if not then you get a three month subscription)

Note:  Some of the columns described below are pretty definite, others are just concepts under consideration.  Feel free to add your comments (for or against) specific concepts or suggest others.  One thing to consider, we have found that a very large percentage (very possibly the majority) of the readership are not participating on any of the bus forums and have no interest in becoming Internet active.  So Q&A columns that might seem redundant to the forum community, may have high value to a large number of readers.

We are looking for titles for these planned or potential monthly columns:

  • A column where Tom Winterhalter will answer general conversion questions submitted by readers.
  • A similar column where Sean Welsh will address electrical questions
  • Bus brand based columns - for example, but not necessarily limited to:

    • Eagle
    • MCI
    • GM
  • Skoolies
  • Tools
  • Routine/Preventative Maintenance
  • Cabinetry and wood finishing

Like I said, not every column concept will make the cut and others not thought of yet might.  But we would like your help in naming them.  To qualify for the 3 free months of BCM, you must submit your suggestion in this thread so that we can keep track of who suggested it first.  Once a name is suggested for a specific column, further suggestions of the same title will serve as votes in favor of that title, but only the first one to suggest it qualifies.

I'll start with this.

Cabinets and Woodworking: The Sawdust Pile or The Sawdust Corner  ;)

Buses: The Bus Garage, specifically The Eagles Nest! ;D

I don't need the subscription, just a couple of thoughts. Just give it to #2. ::)

Oftentimes seeing or thinking things in reverse is equally as helpful as someone suggesting the right way to accomplish a task.  Having made that confusing statement, might I suggest a column devoted to "NEVER AGAIN" which would contain stories from readers who:

     a)  accomplished a task during their conversion which had to be done over because of poor planning

I really don't know how the previous post got posted.  I only hit the return button twice.  Good example of poor planning.  I'll try to continue.

    b)  a bad traveling experience due to lax attention

    c)  things breaking at the wrong time because of poor maintenance

It just seems to me that I pay more attention to details after having been made aware of another's plight and, it makes for good reading.
