New Style Tail Lights

I read a post on tail lights some time back and someone mentioned that the new style tail lights have a marker that is visible from the side (required). I purchased the new MCI Tail Light cluster and mounted it as far outward as possible but cannot see the marker from the side. I searched for the post but couldn't find it. Am I remembering this wrong? I read the current D.O.T. regs and didn't see anything about viewing any rear mounted marker as mandatory just the same old side markers properly mounted. I like the way the new light clusters fabbed in but if another light is required I would like to do it now before I go to paint.

Maintain what your coach had as stock as a minimum, and you'll be fine.

Reflectors and lighting.

Of course, supplementing for better visibility is rarely a bad thing.
