After a 3000 mile trip I have noticed what looks like light water spots all over the back of the coach, trailer and vehicle? The engine has only used 2 quarts of oil, the water level has not changed. It does not look like the consistency of oil. Could this be unburnt fuel? It is very evenly distributed.

Trailer is an open car hauler. everything was clean when we started out.

Thanks

John

Any ideas Doyle?

John, if it is dry spots will be condensation from the Ac's damp spots in the AZ heat will be from a petroleum base like antifreeze, oil or fuel.

good luck

Check your transmission level to rule out a transmission leak.  Jack

Hi John,

It's hard to tell without seeing it. Have you tried to clean it off? If it comes off fairly easy I doubt it's oil based. Most of the time on our Eagle it's oil, which slows down the rust we hear at night! ;D

Did our windows help protect anything behind them? ::)

Stay Cool,

Paul

Interesting question paul, I was visiting with john as they strapped the windows to the trailer front, seemed like a quality job and with the windows in the front of the trailer they had the most scenic view of the surrounding countryside as they pass.  I figure that I did all I could to offer the windows an ongoing education and some quality travel time, but I did all I could for them and there comes a time when the baton has to be passed. I took them the 650 miles from Bontragers to home by way of Mackinaw City where they got to park in front of the fort right next to a really cute little french sports car from Quebec, they also got to spend some quality time in front of Da Yoopers Tourist Trap while I visited with my old insane friends, they probably learned some new words there too.  Then they spent a very boring but informative winter leaning up in my garage watching me create some cabinets and things for other people, till it was time to load them up and take them back to Elkhart to meet john, they seemed to like him, so my travel time only amounted to about 1500 miles with them, not as much as john is doing but I did what i could to broaden their education, I'm sure they will enjoy their european trip, I always enjoy meeting new people and seeing different cultures.  Is it possible that the spots are tears from the windows as their travel grows to a close and they find they may have to go to work?

Could be airbox droplets.  If you don't have a catcher for the airbox they will get all over anything behind the bus.

cody, I really think you should be voted to write the Travel Article for BCM, then you could do a follow up down here in Texas when they are put to work! ;) Of course you will have to ask John for any additional information that he has on the journey after he took over.

Jack,

Thanks I have a system I can rob from an 4104.

Cody/Paul could it be possible that the windows are leaking?
