if you are looking at the back of the engine, the engine is a Detroit 6v92  On a Orion 1991, there is a small tank of some kind on the right side and it is linking oil off the baskets that hold it to the frame. What is the tank and what does it do and where is it likely linking from. thinking you for you help

Sounds like the collector tank for the air box drains.  If it is, there is a drain plug on the bottom.  Empty it and then it should be fine.
