Hello   Painting is almost completed .  We have the polishing and some other trim to paint but 98% done. I had a friend paint the bus but my wife and I did all the prep work.    We added trim so the prep took us 6 weeks including trimming stripping and other tasks; the actual painting , masking and other required work took 48 hours or so with 3 people working full time.
The paint is R&M diamont   basecoat clearcoat using their fleet chart for the color choices. the basecoat is their 902 white which is the most opaque and best covering white in this series.   My friend the painter has a brother in law with a shop and advised us on all paint related matters. These guys use this stuff all the time and know the in and outs of why things happen. They are also very skilled in what they do.  WE did have to devise a strategy to get the paint on without resorting to ladders which was unique but more on that later..  anyway a few pix of the results.  The red barn in the background is at RJs place in Monroe NC who graciously threw out a cord and let us stay whilst visiting family .

The first pix was taken at Cass state park in WV and is the camping/ parking lot while visiting the Shay steam trains there.   Ten bucks a night next to the Greenbrier river..
    Regards and happy bussin  mike

Hello   thanks for the compliments . we will post pix when we can .   I am contemplating a magazine  article if the bus would be acceptable but have not had it finished enough to get that done.

VERY acceptable and welcome!  When you feel ready, drop an email to chad@busconversions.com

Same goes for anyone that would be interested in doing an article on their bus.  They don't have to be finished or perfect.  Out of practicality, the cover and centerfold will give preference to finished or near buses (if one can every really declare a bus conversion as finished  ;) ).  But we are looking for feature articles on conversions in progress.

Well done Mike! Be careful or you won't have anything else to do! ::)

Write up a document in Word on your conversion, submit with photos to Chad. He'll make what you wrote look like you're an author!

They are always hungry looking for fill, and you have a nice coach to display.

Mike,

It looks really nice.  Congrads.

Where exactly did you find a booth that would accept a bus for painting?  Details?

Thanks and again....great job,

John
