Folks,

While we are here at Infinity Coach in Sumner, Washington, we are replacing our FlexSteel "Magic Bed" sleeper sofa.

Honestly, the only thing wrong with this sofa is that, after five years of use, the seat cushion foam is no longer supportive. If I had the skills (and the space) to just replace the foam, I would do it. There is also some minor "pilling" of the fabric. We do have pets, so a certain amount of fur is inevitable, and there might be a cat snag or two.

Included is a roll of extra fabric in the same pattern, I think about three yards worth, which we bought with the sofa. So if you feel the need to replace some of the fabric, you will have it.

These sofas go for around 1,300 new from FlexSteel dealers. You can see this product on FlexSteel's web page under number 4916-74MB.

The sofa folds out into a double bed, "jackknife"-style. You sleep oriented along the long dimension of the unit, and there is no separate mattress -- the seat cushions and some extra foam underneath becomes the mattress. It's difficult to describe here, but if you search on "FlexSteel Magic Bed" you will find several sites that show how it works.

This sofa has only been slept on as a bed four nights total.

We are parked at Infinity Coach in Sumner through about June 16th, and you will need to be able to come get it by then.  Serious inquiries may call me on my cell phone at 408-892-6227, 9am-7pm PDT.

Photos below show the sofa as it is currently installed in our bus, and a close-up of the fabric, which is a sage-green color.

Please note that I have also listed this on the Tacoma Craigslist (where I am asking $50).  The free offer applies only to bus nuts in good standing  :)  -- just mention you saw it here on the Bus Conversions board when you call.

I just took mine to the upholstery shop, they are stuffing it, giving it more backbone and better seating qualities and a leather like appearance.  About $300 which is okay, when you stop to consider what new comes to these days, one more thing, on my captain chairs they are charging me "extra" because they are awfully hard to strip and he mentioned "put together better than most."

Flex-steel is a good buy and holds up well.

Picked up the couch yesterday and had a visit with Sean and Louise.  Great people !  My wife is still not convinced that full timing is for her even after seeing their set up.  Sean and Louise are so willing to take people on the "tour" and share info.  True Busnuts.

This now makes a fridge, air conditioning equip and a couch from Sean's Conversion that have ended up in my bus
Hope they find the leaks they are loking for.

Thanks
