Just in middle of an oil change and I was thinking of converting to a spin on filter on the 6V92TA. Any pro/cons to either setup. I would guess a little easier to remove and one less rag & clean up after.
I pulled the casing and was going to clean and paint, but may just go for the adapter plate instead.

Also, I removed nearly 6.5 gals of oil and am concerned I maybe getting fuel into the oil supply. It did not look thin, and color looked like dirty diesel waste oil. I am going to send out a sample for analysis. I have searched and plan to pull the covers and check the cross over jumpers.

Any additional thoughts ??

Thanks & Enjoy the Sunday !!

Gary, thats about the right amount of oil you should have removed, but the oil sample is also a good idea for general info.>>>Dan

Not sure about a 6V92, but our 8V71 takes 7 1/2 gallons at oil change (includes about 1/2 gallon in filter).  I would go with a spin-on so you can fill it with oil before installing the new filter. This shortens the run time without oil pressure on first start-up after oil/filter change.  Jack

UCJ & Jack,

Thanks guys, I was thinking capacity was 22 Qts. I believe it is dependant upon the depth of oil pan. US Coach has done my changes in the past, however I felt up to it this time. I also removed the OEM oil cooled generator drain to pan, as I have installed a truck 24 volt one wire alternator.

I see a company B-Line in Texas is quite reasonable for the adaptor and filters. I might check in the DD manual as to getting a reference dimension on required oil.

Anything to look after with the adaptor plate install ? ? ? Any required torque ? I do not yet have the instructions to review.

Thanks guys,
