someone stole my maint manual/parts manual and I am not local to the bus.

does anyone have the bulb numbers for the
Rear Turn Signals
Brake Light
Rear tail light
side turn signal
roof lights

also any idea where to get these the cheapest other than MCI or Luke

JackConrad

Can't help with the numbers, but as far as a source, depends on how soon you need the bulbs. Do a Google search for 24 volt automotive bulbs. I know there have been several websites posted here in the past.  Jack

"Cheapest" has a bad tone to it. For all that the above mentioned folks at those businesses do for you/us/the bus community, why not patronize them for the little stuff too?

I buy my bulbs from http://www.bulbdirect.com/  However there are other vendors, but Bulbdirect shows cheap and expensive bulbs for most of the bulbs I ordered.  The cheap ones seem to be working fine, just wondering about the longevity.

Here are your lamp numbers

  • Stoplamp ................ 1662 24v
  • Turnlamp ................ 1683 24v
  • Backup ................... 1683 24v   (same for turn)
  • Side Lamp .............. 1638 24v    (yes it's confusing but it's 1638)
  • Clearance Lights ......  624 24v

Hope this helps.

It is certainly nice to buy stuff from folks you know and trust, but not all of us are in a financial position to pay more on a regular basis.  If I need to call and talk to someone I will most likely buy the item from them.  If I do all the research on my own I'll likely buy from the cheapest source.

Now, I have been burned by buying cheap and then having to go buy the more expensive item later.

I have purchased my 24 volt bulbs from C&J Bus Repair.  I didn't bother checking around when I only needed two or three bulbs.  Most of my bulbs are 12 volts.

I don't know the comparative costs but Napa also sells those.  They might not have them under the counter but they can get them for you in a couple of days.

I get 24v bulbs from a starter rebuilder. He orders them in package of 10 and they are Westinghouse brand. Run about $.50 each. NAPA is $3 to $4 dollars for same numbers.
