what width are mattresses in entertainer coach bunk beds?

I am getting ready to build one set of bunk beds in my bus. Twin mattresses are 39" and that's wider than I would like, since these beds are for the occasional guests and for kids. What size is used in entertainer coaches where there are bunk beds on each side with an aisle in between. If they are not standard twin 39" wide models, where do they get them? Are they usually spring type mattresses, or just cut pieces of foam? Thanks.

The mattresses in the entertainer coaches I have been in are foam and I would guess about 32-36" wide, leaving an aisle about 2' wide between them.  Jack

I bought my bunk mattresses at rv surplus in elkhart.
They had both 24" and 32" along with regular sizes at that time.

For what it's worth, there is a 'standard' mattress size called "single" which is 29" (sometimes 30") wide by 75" long.

Will make up a foam mattress, with cover in whatever size you choose.  I'd recommend (because it' what I have in my bus and I like the feel) 3" of their "Lux HQ" glued to 3" of their "HD36 HQ".  It's firmer with the 'LUX' on top and a little softer when flipped over.

Exactly the way I make up my mattresses, bus and otherwise, except I don't glue them.

I use foam pads from JCP, mattress toppers over them and enclose them in mattress covers.

This way I can make my beds just as I want them and, as you say, can flip them over if necessary for more firmness.

I use either 32" or 34" wide innerspring mattresses for my bunks.  Whatever size the local mattress place could produce that was one coil narrower than a normal twin mattress.

My mattresses are twin XL so they are 80" long instead of 75" long.  This reduced the living room area about a foot, but I think it is worth it for adults.  Looking back on it I probably should have done 4 of the bunks in regular mattresses to save space and money.  Not everyone is tall and needs the extra length.
