I have a mechanic installing a jake on my bus and since I no longet will use the high idle I wouuld like to know the J box lugs for that curcuit so I can use the runs fdor the jake. My book doesn't have any diagrams for the engine wireing so am in the dark. I found two spares so far but need tthree runs for a 2 level jake Jerry

Hi Jerry, I don't have any diagrams for a 102, but if you look at the front and rear junction boxes, you'll see some posts with single wires.  Those are probably blanks.
Tach leads, rear bathroom leads, and there are several blanks included.
I'll be happy to get my 87 MC9 manual and see what leads are blanked off...however, I've got a DDEC and it may be somewhat different.
Let me know.

I found two runs that were open by doing the single wire on a post deal and then running a continuity check to the rear JB The diagrams I have are 86 87 and the bus is an 88 so I find a lot of vaariation . Jerry

I can use it as a two wire  but would like to be able to have 2 level system. As you may know the high idle buffer switch has to come out for the jake sw to go in the governer. so can't use the high idle anyway Jerry

I need numbers for the front and rear jb of the curcuits. I tried the studs for the jake and they had thee showing in my book but they were being used for something else. no I don't have a fax cause I don't have a land line only a cell. Jerry

Jerry, if you want to keep your high idle Jake makes a high idle buffer switch cost about 200 bucks.I have the high idle on my 8v92TA with 2 stage Jakes     good luck

Hi jerry,

I would try and keep the high idle in play if possible. I use my H. I. all the time for quick air build up and engine warm ups.

As far as your two stage jake switch, it's not that important to have the low setting. I have only used my low once and

I didn't notice it much.

Good Luck
with your porject

The trouble with the high idle is that it don't come on untill you get 90 lbs of air so what good is it? As a passenger bus they used it or A/C other than that I don't see any good use for it . Once  I have 90 lbs of air the only othe good usse is to warm up the engine and I have a block heater for that. I suppose if I were dry camping there would be a difference but I am just getting it set up for the ability to dry camp. RV furnaces use to much juice  so I am installing Esper or Eberspacher diesel fired heaters which draw very little current at 24 volts. I have 6 80 watt solar panels and am building a generator for DC charging the batteries. Jerry

I tried getting the lav wires but only in the front JB so no help there if I can find the fast idle in bothe the front and rear I could use that. I found two spares that were open but none of the jake posts were available and were in use for something else. I found 17 to 17  open and 29 to 43 open so all I need is one more front to rear run. I could only get 12 volt solinoids and allready had 12 volts in the rear JB for tow lights so will use that Jerry

I don't have a 102 manual, but on our MC-8 the fast idle is front panel #46 and rear panel #22.  Don't forget that there a couple interlocks in this circuit to prevent fast idle from operating unless engine is in neutral and parking brake is applied. Jack

Jerry, you'll still need a buffer switch so the Jake can know when to shut off and come on, depending on governor position.
I have the 102 wiring diagrams just pm me and I'll send them to you.
