I have been reading thread after thread and can't seem to find the start of re skinning an 1982 Eagle Bus.
We have removed all Siding added slide out's redid windows. So now the bus is a skeleton, After Reading a lot
we have decided to Glue on the Aluminum sheets, But I heard people talking about heating it up to stretch the Aluminum.
This is were I don't understand how to do this process.

I would appreciate any help or link's

Thanks,
Tom K

Tom, as a Eagle owner I would not recommend using the aluminum for skinning no matter what you do the stuff will wave with steel you can heat it stretch it and tack weld it in the front and rear while waiting on the glue to set.FWIW some of the guys on the Eagle board are skinning their Eagles now      Good luck

Tom,

I saw an Eagle 10 at the rally in Brownsville back in 2007 that the owner had glued all the siding on.  It was the cleanest thing I'v seen.  It had the timeless eagle look with only a few rivets in strategic places for strength.  He used Sikaflex to glue it together.   I wish I could remember his name.  I found an old post that has a picture link to the rally.

Click on Dreamscape's link to the webshots, then scroll to the "Eagle rally Brownsville TX" and look for shot number 100_0571.  That is the coach.  It is sweet!!!

Paul, that is Dave St.Johns (metal skin) bus you can do that with metal but to do it with aluminium is tough.Byron's Eagle is not there but he has a perfect Eagle no blemishes anywhere.I don't have rivets on my siding .Airbag it is for sale he is building a  model 15    good luck

As I haven't met Dave I wouldn't have known. Where would we find a picture of Bryon's Eagle? Did he go to the rally in Colorado? Hopefully he'll post some on the Eagles site.
