Black streak removal

Any body have any tips how to get black streaks off the sides? on paint? on bare aluminum? Does anyone know what the streaks are? acid rain? mineral deposit? Any suggestions would be welcome.

Depending on the size of the streaks I have used toothpaste first. If no luck then I graduate to a variety of polishing bars from less abrasive to more abrasive until the streaks are gone. Most of the time mine have come off with toothpaste.  Be careful not continue to rub hard in one spot.

At the Dollar store a product called "Awsome". has a guide to mix/water strength. I've used it full strength with good results. As far as using full strength I just don't let it sit long.
