Good to be here. Just bought a 1982 Eagle with 6v92. Plan to convert. It is great to see the wealth of info here & am looking forward to participating. As I move along I'll keep posting the progress. Plan to spend most of this year in the discovery phase. Will use the Eagle for small trips to feel her out & get to some rallies hopefully to get some much needed imput. We'll be sort of roughing it but we want to use it as we go. Once we get into the meat of it she will obviously be down for a while. First item will be how to properly set her up for toad capabilities. Will be hauling an S10 pickup or trailer from time to time. Also hope to get some type of rear camera going to help with this. Any suggestions on these areas would be greatly appreciated. Thanx, John from Bowman, SC.

John,
Welcome to the wonderful world of BusNuts.  Sometimes some of our members have little spats (like any family), but overall, we are one big happy family that all try our best to help each other.  Jack

THANKS, I also forgot to ask if there are any suggestions for getting rid of the unwanted bus seats.

hi John, welcome to the encyclopedia of buses,as you can tell many here take their land yachts seriously and very rarely heated debates can erupt, but you know the saying steel sharpens steel ;)incidentally what you described is called steel tenting . We have a 89 model 15 and will be pretty much doin the same as yourself ,good luck and mucho steel tenting. Van

So far as the seats ,it's tedious work but just take em out.we left 6 pair in up front (temporarily) Good luck.

Wecome aboard John.  I took my seats to an auto junkyard and gave them away. They threw them in cars when they crush cars. Some have sold theirs, you may try Ebay if you are in a good area and the seats are nice.  Tom Y

As far as the seats go, if they are in really good shape put an ad on Craigs list, describe them as home theater seats and see what you get.

Welcome.

I donated my bus seats to the local senior center. I plan on getting a write off on my taxes. The center then traded the seats to a local bus charter service for a few trips into Idaho and Salt lake City for the seniors.

I donated my seats to a church that was needing new seats for their bus. I put them on eBay for $1 and told the story in the ad. The church even sent a bunch of kids up to help me pull the seats out of the bus! Craigslist, as mentioned above, is also a good suggestion. I did eBay to get a wider area of coverage. The guys came from about 4 hours away to get the seats.
