I came across a 50 to  800LB 4 ft long adjustable Tourque wrench. They want $100.00 Deal or no Deal? What do you guys think? I looked for a model/type nothing on it.

Thanks

I would go for it if I needed to torque a prop nut on a DC-3.

Decent price. If you have any use for one and you recognize it as a quality brand, I would buy it.

Good luck.

I bought 600lbs armstrong for $160.00 new from a freight recovery outfit on eBay. I thought this was a smok'n deal. They sell for around $950.00 new. I don't know quality of your wrench but sounds like a smok'n deal to me. Search model and brand on internet. All busnuts need a man wrench!

4 feet long has me wondering a little...

You'd have to be well over 200 lbs to be able to practically extract 800 lbs of torque, but then on the bus, you're only looking for 500 for the wheels.

FWIW, the ones for doing wheels at big transit here are over 5 feet long.

How does the vendor suggest you get it calibrated?  If it cannot be calibrated, best to pass.

you can always use the poor man's torque wrench: your weight, out so many feet equals the torque required.

happy coaching!
