How do you positively identify what engine is you a bus? I was told 6v92 but how do you tell for sure, 1984 MCI.

John; looking at the front of the engine on the right side there is pulley ( balancer) and it will be stamped 6v92    have a great day

Look at the serial numbers:

Silver 6V92TA began with F83425
Silver 8V92TA began with F73594
Joe Laird
'78 Eagle
Sioux Falls, South Dakota

NJT 5573

If all else fails, look at the exhaust manifold. 3 ports, 6 holes- 4 ports, 8 holes.
