Well I though i was making a little head way on the bus today.

I Got power to the shore cord only 15 amp but a little power any way.  I was thinking I might be able to see if the ice box worked and may plug in a radio to listen to while I was working.

It was trying to rain so I ran the shore cord back into the engine compartment where I had been working and had a 3 10 cord from the house ran to.  I plugged it in and walked to the front of the bus to check the lights and the ice box came on and the lights worked.  But as I walked back to the back of the bus I had a stream of water flowing across the hall way.  It was not rain and I have not hooked any water to it since I got it in Feb.  I guess I have more things to play with than first though.  I looked under the sink and there is copper tubing there and I think it might have been leaking at a junction I hope any way.

I guess I know there is a water pump some where and it does some thing.

Last time I had it on the genset I found water in the bath room and found a hose to the toilet off.

Never a dull moment is there.

Hmmm!, Sounds like you have a converter or inverter that is powering  a 12 volt pump when plugged in to 120 Volt power supply or you have a 120volt water pump (very unusual). Jack

I have 120v water pump in my Eagle coach all the new Featherlite Prevost have them now

I have not been able to figure that one out myself.  What i though was a battery charger and an inverter were both burn't up in the fire and I removed them both.

I am hoping it is just the compression fitting leaking i hate them.

Since the last post the wife's dryer has quit, it is not looking like a good evening.

you could have a converter hide in there some look like a 12v fuse panel

Gee Whiz Bob, When it rains it pours huh!

Speaking of rain, we're getting some right now. We need it though so I better not complain.

I hate compression fittings and copper period. At least with PEX you can fix it pretty fast and don't drown.

No 12 volt fuse panel the only 12 volt that the last builder said was in it was the running lights and bus dot related stuff.

I did find a water pump flojet I think it had written on the side of it.

I went back out to look around at things after deciding the dryer is posset by demon.  Worry about it later.  The ice box seams to be working and after i opened the water faucets on the sink I did not find any more water any where.

The switch that changes over from shore power to genset seams to take a while to switch the power on when I plug it up.  I guess that might be the way it was designed.

Well The wife is trying to find a sitter for the grand daughter while she goes to Arkansas for her mother's surgery wensday she is calling me to the phone. Later.

Flojet does make a 120v RV pump

Ok I checked again it is a 12 volt pump.

But it was wired directly to the batteries before and i have not rewired that.

I wonder if the ice maker in the ice box could have let the water flow back when it came on?  If it had water in the line and tried to fill it's self up could it have let the water flow backward to the system? 

But i did have some water come out of the facets that would not shut off makes me wonder.

Bob,
   Most of the commercially made transfer switches have a delay on the generator (non-default side of switch).  This is to allow the generator to get up to speed before the power is switched. If the generator and shoreline are connected backwards, the delay would be when shoreline is plugged in. All the switches I have seen have the terminals labeled SHORELINE & GENERATOR.  Jack

Jack you might be right after every thing else that I have found in this thing it would not surprise a bit.

Learning this stuff is one thing but finding it all done backwards and trying to figure it out is something else.

Bob,

Got me thinking about maybe another concern,

Make sure you don't have a 110 water heater getting power while your firing things up.

Especially since it sounds like the water is generally disconnected.

Just thinking out loud.......
