Load Balancing and how best to wire genset

To complete the post, Richard and I found out that this genset is old enough to use brushes, probably from the 1960's.  It only has 3 main wires coming out of the  head - 2 hot, one neutral.  We think that in this case I'd be better off running it 240/120 since it does work so well.  Better not to break what isn't broken!
