Yet another Headliner Thread

I have been wondering about just applying some vinyl wallcovering to my existing (original) bus ceiling. I would apply it between the aluminum channels, cutting and trimming as necessary. What would be wrong with this? I looked at some patterns at Lowes today, and a few would look very nice. I don't know how the adhesive (paste) would adhere to the old ceiling, however.
