It looks like we'll be flying into Chicago in April. I haven't been to Chicago in ages and we'll have very limited time so what are the must see's?
I'm thinking the Museum of Science and Industry, Sears Tower and the Shedd if we can make it. I'd also like to know where to get a good original Chicago style pizza somewhere near the Knickerbocker where we'll be staying if possible or short cab ride away.

Also planning on a very quick drive into Freeport where I grew up so if anyone can recommend a place for a good hot dog or something along the way..... :)

(Is anyone familiar with Freeport?)

Anyone have any ideas?

Pizza:  Gino's East, 633 N. Wells St. (312) 943-1124 - Legendary Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza.  Back when I used to go to Chicago, my friends knew I could eat an entire XL pizza back home.  So they took me there.  I only ate half of it before I was too full.  But it tasted so good, that I kept trying, but couldn't.  Their pizzas are an awesome meal.  When they say one slice is a serving size, they aren't just trying to make the calorie count look good.

I agree with your selection of the Museum of Science and Industry.  It is incredible.  I've been there three times and always found new amazing exhibits there.  I would also highly recommend the Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum. Among planetariums I've been to, it is in a class by itself.

Chicago is my favorite large city for visiting (wouldn't want to live there).  Have fun.

Yesss!!! Gino's East is the best in the world. Thats where my wife and I went the night we got engaged 34 years ago. The  atmosphere there is just great and the pizza is even better.

Gino's an absolute must,  I 'd go back to chicago just for that.   I could only eat 3 pieces when i was strait out of boot camp.  I f you get sausage, it 's one piece---THE SIZE OF THE PIZZA! :o
It's all fun and games til someone gets hurt. ;)
