12 volt from 24

I know that Vanner seems to be the standard, but I came across a guy offering a Newmar 32-12-25 for about $100.  Would this do the trick?  The link is below.  Would I then need a separate 12 volt battery for the generator?  I guess one question is whether the 20 amp continual output is adequate for the normal RV stuff.

This is a converter, not an equalizer. The difference being that an equalizer puts out a voltage that is proportional to the input, or in other words, exactly half the input voltage. The converter puts out a regulated 13.6 volts regardless the input voltage.
These can often be found on ebay and other places for around $10-$20.

I use a converter on my house bank. It is rated at 20 amps max, about 18 continuous. I've blown the fuse once but it was my fault. I currently have a buffer battery in the system, but I think I'm going to remove it this spring and just run directly off the converter.
