To add to what BK and Sammy have posted, as soon as the engine fires off, pull the throttle wide open and hold it for a few seconds.
This will allow the pump to force all the air back through the lines to the tank.

Remember, this is a Detroit and the easiest way to deal with a DD is to slam your hand in the door just as hard as you can before attempting to do anything with it. This puts you in the right frame of mind for the rest of the session.

For efficiency sake, try both.  Better safe than sorry.   ;D ::)

Hey Paul go get 10 more gallons (just to put gravity on your side)!
Hey Sammy I really like the idea of the garden sprayer, but one the side of the road or in a truck stop the bottle is easier/quicker to aquire & use on the spot! I will use the sprayer idea for the shop & service calls! (I got 1 that is fixing to be replaced fromit's current job!)
Thanks

Hi Guys,
As I remember it, you are giving advise to the originator of the "MAROON". LOL
Good luck, Sam 4106

Funny you should bring that up.  I resisted making the obvious comments.  Mamma always told me, "If you can't say something nice...." Well, you know the rest.

Paul careful with that tubing! It don't take much to screw it up where it'll leak air into the system!
The primary filter is the long one! As Sammy said ( & I forgot to mention 'cause I done it so many times it comes natural!) take the plug out of the secondary filter (the short one! Filter that is, not bus! LOL!) housing and then use your dish soap squeezable fuel primer bottle there! Good luck!

Ahhhh Paul,
We're patiently waiting to here the results! OK so maybe we're not being that patient! Hey just find something to pour the dish soap into! At your rate you'll never wash enough dishes to empty it! LOL!

How large is the fuel tank on your fishbowl?  The sizes vary and that can be an issue.  I have a suburban that was originally purchased for long-distance commuter work and it has a 130-gallon tank.  But I have seen transits that came with only 95-gallon tanks.
