So, for those guys who were at the TBR2007 rally this weekend, you'll be glad that there is a postscript to the whole "brownie saga".

This morning, before the grandbaby shows up, I decide to run out to the shop and help Larry pull the microwave so he can see if it's got a blown fuse or what, so I grab a screw gun and pop the four little screws holding it in, out.  Four little screws. :-X

As we slide the unit out, we peer behind it and much to our surprise, there lay's the cord, on the bottom of the cabinet, UNPLUGGED. :o  I guess years and years of rolling down the road must have eventually rattled it out of the receptacle. . .evidently after I used it the last time.  Who would have thought it would be so easy for fix!   :D

Makes you kind of wonder, though, whether maybe it's the gremlins back, setting up situations for me, just to entertain you guys!   ;D ;D ;D      Christy Hicks

Hi yo silver

Christy,
You gotta learn to think like a man.  What you were supposed to do then was go on and take off a cover, tinker around for a while, put the cover back, reinstall the microwave, brush your hands together, and when asked what was wrong with it, just say, "it's taken care of!"  (Sorry about giving away our secret, guys.)LOL

Christy,

It was nice meeting you & Larry this weekend! :)  Thanks for showing my wife & I through your bus....we got some great ideas.

After the "brownie saga" and now the microwave are you sure you want to put a full kitchen in the MC9? ::)  Maybe just gift cards to local restaurants would be safer, but we sure would miss out on some good stories and dessert bars too!  BTW those dessert bars were off the chart! ;D

See y'all next time,

It was great meeting you guys too, and your girls are just great!   :)

Hahahaha, I just can't get over the fact that it was like I was "set up". . . just because we didn't have a mechanical or a/c or generator problem, it was like there really was a gremlin setting me up so that I could entertain you guys! ???

Glad you liked the bars. . . since Larry is "sugar limited" and I've been watching my weight (watching it creep up, ha ha  ;)), I was sure glad to see you guys scarf them up. . .although, it possibly also was the threats I made if you guys didn't eat them and "enjoy them damnit!" ha ha.   :D :D

Hey Christy,

I have proof! You really did cook the brownies, and they were good too.

Maybe next year you could cook a pineapple upsidedown cake!

Paul

You mean, as opposed to "upside down" bars?????

Guys, if you look close, you can see on the back of the pan, the end where my left hand is holding it, yes, it's there, click right on the picture and zoom in, you can see the brownie residue on the whole side there were it was creeping up the side!

So, for those of you, and YOU know who you are, who tried to claim I made that whole story up, HAH!  ;D  Paul has vindicated me!  ;D (actually, it was a bit of a conspiracy, I asked Paul to specifically document the facts, as my integrity had been called into question,  :o yes, folks, there is ONE member, here, on this very board,  :o who actually still thinks I MAKE THIS STUFF UP!   ::) :D)   Christy Hicks

You guys be nice to poor lil ole Christy!  I too can vouch for her honor 'cause I saw those brownies spillin over the back edge as she pulled them out of the oven.  Be easy on the gal.  Besides, those were some delicious brownies!  At least she really did bake hers - mine came from Sam's Club.

It was so great to meet every single one of you at the TBR 2007!  Can't say when I had a better 4 days and made so many interesting, smart and talented new friends.  Being part of you bus nuts has opened up a whole new to world to Paul and I and I don't think we will ever 'go back' to the old one. Thank you for all the fellowship, memories and laughter.

Update on Yoshi:  If you happened to be around when Yoshi decided to poke his short little snout into a fire ant bed - he lived for me to tell about it.  Thanks to Patti West, who ran for clear children's benedryl, he was calmer and quiet about 10 minutes of taking it, even if he did look like Forest Gump's pal, Bubba, with his lips all puffed out.  After an hour, the swelling was almost gone and he slept most of the way home.  Tip:  Keep it in your bus if you travel with dogs.  You never know when it could happen to your best friend.

I will send the roster as soon as we get the last couple folks' info.  (Some forgot to sign the sheet.)  Happy Trails to all of you - come see us down in West Texas!

Fire ants got me in the pants while I was under the Flx checking the transmission and differential oil levels. Them and the chiggers did a number on me. No benedryl or calamide stuff either. Red splotches gone now, and scabs nearly gone, one week later. Next time I'll be more careful, prepared. Kenneth

Ken,

We know all about fire ants. Becky was taking one of dogs, Yoshi, out for a walk and because he is a Pekinese his nose is short. Well you know what happened next. He was sniffing around like all dogs do and they got him good. We got some Benedyrl from someone, I think Patti West, and he was better a couple of hours later. His por ole lips were pretty puffy.

Maybe next year we should have a First Aid Kit available for all these Texas bugs!

Glad to hear you are better,

Paul

Hi yo silver

Christi,
I don't see how ANYONE could think the stuff we're reading about on this board is made up!  However, it DOES have the makings of a good book! LOL!

Yes, Dennis, it WOULD make a good book I think!  ;)

Kenneth, I'm so sorry to hear about your pants-ants. .. I can't believe we were parked RIGHT NEXT to you and missed the jig you must have danced!  ;) :D

That is the one thing that doesn't seem to happen to me (the only thing maybe), the whole chiggers, mosquitos, bees, ticks, etc thing.  They just seem to leave me alone, while they eat everyone else up.  I guess some type of grass treatment is a good idea to stock for the next rally!  Christy Hicks

Christy,

I heard someone say that Smoke follows you everywhere!  ;D Bugs don't like Smoke.  ;)

Consider yourself blessed!
