Hi folks,

I have an  8v71 non electronic in an MC 9. The fuel shut off will not release when the bus is aired up. The skinner valve is not opening to let the pressure off the air cylinder. In the manual, it says terminal 54 in the rear junction box is the load side of the circuit. Using a test light, I don't think any power is getting to this terminal. Could anyone tell me if there is a common place where this circuit gets screwed up ,or am I just going to have to keep working backwards till I find the problem? I should mention that this is a new problem from the other day and it was fine til then. As long as the bus has no air pressure,it starts and runs fine.

Thanks for any input.

Check the rear run switch. Make sure it's in the proper position. It allows power to go to a terminal strip inside the rear engine control box - Terminal 9. Power then goes to stud 54 in the rear J box, then to the engine stop solenoid. I'm looking at a MC-8 diagram, don't have a 9 diagram. Should be similar.
Send me a copy of your schematic diagram, I'll be glad to help you.
