I talked to luvrbus today and he said there might be 70 buses down there.

I hope you all take lots of pictures and share them for those of us who can't make it.

It should be a fun time for all.

I wish I could go....maybe next year!  :-\

Rally pics would be great, but I'd also like to see more pics of the new Model 25 they are working on.

I'd also like to scavenger through their parts inventory, but that would probably get me in $$ trouble.  :o

I returned from Brownsville Saturday.  We had 37 Eagles in the lot.  It was impressive seeing all those buses in the lot, and I was amazed how many 01's were there.   The tour of the factory was really good.  Craig has reacquired all the model 15 production jigs and has two model 25's being built.  The coach is huge--45' x 102" x 12'7" tall powered by a 500hp Cummins with an Eaton 10spd autoshift tranny.   We had mixed reviews on the stainless siding.  It looked too much Prevosty for the taste of many.

Craig has factory new torsalastic beams for our buses now and is in the process of acquiring a cache of Eagle parts that have been stored up since the bankruptcy.  His family is putting their fortunes into getting this factory going again.  We all sure hopes he makes it.  It would nice to buy coaches that are made in the USA instead of importing them.   Several of the employees are former Eagle employees and could remember assembling some of the coaches we parked in the lot while we were there.

I didn't take any pictures, but I imagine others will post later on as some of the rally guys get back on the road and get home.

Did they say why they choose an Autoshift over a fully automatic tranny like a Astronic or an Allison?

An Eagle would be my bus of choice if I could ever afford a new shell as I like the torsilastic suspension like my Dina has.

Craig said the Eaton is what most trucks have and can easily be serviced just about anywhere.  However, if one wants an Allison they will install it.  They plan on building whatever the customer wants.

They are for now, but they do have the model 15 jigs if they get back into the passenger market.
