Converting a Horse Trailer

The article chronicles the author's journey of converting a horse trailer into a functional RV. The author obtained a horse trailer from a retired jockey. She chose a 4-horse Trails West Adventure trailer, which offered a robust foundation due to its spacious and high interior, which was ideal for their conversion project.

The build involved several upgrades and modifications: replacing tires, closing off open areas with aluminum brackets and smoked plexiglass, and enhancing insulation with rubber mats and foam board. The interior was adapted with a Murphy bed for versatile living space, a vinyl floor for better insulation, and plans for solar panels and additional batteries to support off-grid living. The result is a custom, multifunctional tiny home that balances practical living with innovative design.
