It is a new unit, still under warranty.   Towing $6,000.  Parts $3800 - $2400 for the gear drive, $1400 for the clutch itself.  Labor - $5200.  Other expenses - hotel - $2800.   It was a Freightliner chassis.  Apparently they covered everything but the hotel.

The $6000 towing bill I don't believe happen. parts were not that bad in price, the Linning electric clutch used on Prevost and later MCI will cost you over 4 grand new without the gear box

I agree, the $6000 towing bill is hard to believe.

The Linning electric clutches can be easily rebuilt.  I'd love to know why both the gearbox and the clutch failed.

$5200 for labour ?   Even at $200/hr, that is 26 hours.  Did they have to pull the engine ?

The gearbox probably failed 1st and they installed the fan clutch because it got damaged, yep Cummins is 200 to $250 a hour for RV labor ,they have it wired most diesel RV's are Cummins power with the Cummins Onan generator that takes weeks for Cummins to even look at.I have a HYD fan that runs off the 4060 Allison PTO drive the coupling for it is $3800.00 rebuilt no telling what a pump or motor would cost
