After more than a decade of dreaming, the "oh @#$%" moment is here.  I have taken possession of a 2006 MCI J4500.  Let the games begin...

SUCKER!! Haha. Welcome. With a newer model, shouldnt have as many body issues as some try to go cheap on initial purchase and pay 3 to 4 times over dealing with all the rot and wear.

It is a S60 / Allison B500 with about 450K miles on it.  I even got the VCR and the microphone... :-)

Anyone want a seat or 50?

Should be a real sweetheart of a bus. Just be careful about disassembly. Apparently there is a data cable that you want to be real careful with. (as in major costs to repair or unrepairable and unusable without it) May be other things too.

I saw it on the Internet. It MUST be true...

It should be a decent bus, much better than the E4500 (Renaissance) that had severe problems with the windshield cracking. The charter bus outfit that I worked for got two of them, but quickly returned them and got J4500's. The early ones had solid front suspension, but they switched to independent suspension later on. I do believe that Cliff meant that it is "the best looking bus on the road" in current production. He surely did not mean to exclude certain other brands that he now misses.  :o

I am absolutely certain that Lucas Electric was somewhere in the shadows as multiplex electrical systems were developed!  It took me almost a week to figure out how to wire up auxiliary driving lights to come on with my high beams.  It turned out that the ground wire for the low beam turns into the hot wire for the high beam!?!?  Jack
