I just ordered 2-5gal pales Mobil Delvac 1240 (sae40 straight weight for Detroit 2 stroke) of oil from summitracing.com for $149.98 delivered to my house. What is sad, that the local oil company has the same oil, but with sales tax added would be $100 more for the two pales. Good Luck, TomC

I'm glad I got a 55gallon drum of it a few years back. It was about $230. This was right after Exxon bought Mobil. Was then called exxon XD3-40. A year or two later, it reverted back to the Mobil designation. Probably no one liked it being labelled Exxon. We used to use Mobil 1140 in the 4104 till they dropped it and only offered 1240.

Just pickup and shake that 55 gallon drum every once in a while to keep it homogenized.

I think I'm going to order two sets of four gallon cases. It is cheapest that way as I have plenty clean 5 gal buckets if needed. Thanks for putting it in the board. Question? - is it alright to mix brands like Delvac 1240, Delo100 40 wt, &/or other CF2 mono grade 40 wt. Diesel oil ?

That was twenty years ago, but I can't comment. I did the same thing, only it was barrels of Shell Oil 40W from a distributor that was moving for about the same price. I am still working on the last barrel. My next barrels will be Delvac 1240, if I can get a good price.

So long as the oil is CF-2 rated and straight 40 weight, mixing brands don't matter. Good Luck,, TomC

Something I always find odd is that it is actually cheaper per gallon to buy the one gallon jugs than the 5 gallon pail.

Maybe five gallon buckets are way more expensive than one gallon jugs. Or overall volume of product sold in different package sizes. Or their promotional deals.

I received my 2-5gal buckets of oil yesterday. Packed in a box and padded with air pillows-right to my house. Was impressed. Good Luck, TomC
