How difficult and expensive to install a Jake brake on my mechanical 6V92T in a MCI 102C3. I sure would love to have one.

It shouldn't be difficult as long as there is enough room for the tall valve covers or the risers. Some older vee drive buses require a hump to be built into the tailgate.

The price of the buffer switch, if you want to save your fast idle, may surprise you. I think it's much better if you install all of the parts right at the beginning, rather than waiting to put some of the switches and their wiring in.

A bad install can do engine damage, so get some experienced help.

Good luck.

Eagle

I had my Eagle 6V92TA done by Diesel Injection with a two stage system and the buffer switch for about $2500.00.  This included all parts and labor with the high valve covers not spacers.  New system.  You should be able to find a used unit for about $800.00 or less.

what is a buffer switch ?
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, a good Reisling in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming:  WOO HOO, what a ride
