KB, If you did a snap or zip on tarp and it came off, It could be a big deal. If anything bigger or heavier came off, it could be deadly. I might want to run with you sometime, so if you are gonna put it up there, its gotta stay up there. Do you know my wife? (She likes to take it all)! Being a trucker I have a few rules that I follow. If its a truck load of gasoline, I won't run with it. If it has Hazmat placards of any kind, I won't run with it. If its a curtain van, I won't run with it, if I can't see the load is secured. If it has a bunch of "stuff" on top, I won't run with it. I have seen more than a few sets of duals leave trucks and trailers and never stay beside one any longer than needed. How many beds have I seen fly off cars? Seen a few roof air covers off RVs hit cars too. Please be careful as you can see I put you in the high risk group when you loaded the roof!

What do you plan on hauling or storing in this rack? I think a tarp is a BAD idea and a big liability. You seem to have some expendable income so why not have some kind of custom made aluminum box that is low profile and hinged preferably in the front for further safety factors. I'm sure you have some idea of what your going to put up there so have it built with that in mind. You seem like a very intriguing person tackling a bus the way you have.
