Calling all 4104 owners -

A fellow '04 owner over on FB is having problems trying to mount his mufflers and tailpipes, especially the inner one next to the shift linkage on the bulkhead.  This is for the dual muffler setup.  He's having trouble trying to get the tailpipe to clear the torque rod that attaches to the cradle in the same area.

Could fellow '04 owners here please take some photos of your stock (or similar) dual exhaust plumbing and send them to me via my email address (listed in my profile.) Pics of the area around the torque rod and exhaust plumbing will be especially helpful.

TIA, fellow busnuts!

Been a long time since I saw one, I remember the bracket was in a different location and the rod was shorter,a photo would be nice just to see. Those rods are not as important on a 6-71 upright engine as the are the tilted 8v71 IMO if you have good engine mounts

I replied to that post, when I changed from single to dual exhaust I had to shorten the transverse stabilizer rod considerably. I will send a photo of that change when I get back home. I shortened it to less than 1/2 it's original length many years ago w/o issue. Looking at the geometry of the original long rod didn't seem any different for strength to shorten it.
