Every time I come to the board now I have to log in. but it won't let me, I get a message that says. unable to log in check your cookies settings. I close my browser and reopen and then click in my link and go strait to board. ???

When I came to the board a few minutes ago I was also required to login.  Not sure what is going on but I had not written down my password and it took some hard thinking to pull it out of the cobbwebs. Does anyone want to comment on why we now have to login in.  Mine was set to always be logged in.

Connel.

The troubles are temporary and should subside soon.

While we are in upgrade mode things may act strangely.

The upgrades should be done in no longer than a year but no less than an hour.

Please bear with us and watch us grow.

Ron,

Clear your cookie cache and temp files and try it again.

Then the next time you log in it will place a new cookie in your cache.

I'm not certain that's the problem, but it's the most likely explanation. I haven't had any trouble with logging in yet and neither has Cat.

(By the way, I'm still looking for the diagram for the Inverter remote. I've put it someplace and can't seem to remember where. As soon as I find it, I'll send it to you).

Hi Connel,

After the upgrade, everyone is required to logon.  This should be a one-time occurence.  After your password has been re-entered and the your security profile has been updated by the new software, your logon process should be back to what it was before the upgrade.

Hope this helps, Phil

When I first go to the site my cookie logs me in automatically-then I get a dialogue box saying my passwork isn't correct. I go back and manually type in the correct password-I still get the same results.

I then type in the same password used both on the automatic and manual log in already and everything is ok??? Weird!

Phil,

This is still happening?

Any idea how to eliminate this problem?

Thanks,

Gus,

Try this:

If you are using IE, close your internet connection, but leave the browser open.

left click on tools,
left click on 'internet options' in the drop down list.
Under the heading of 'Temporary Internet Files', select 'Delete Cookies'
Left Click, 'OK'

Next,
left click on 'Settings'
Where it says, "Check for newer versions of stored pages",
Select 'Automatically'

Next,
Select the Security Tab,
Select 'Internet'
Left Click on 'custon levels'
Scroll down and make sure 'User Data Persistance' is enabled
Scroll down to 'Scripting of Java Applets' is enabled
Click OK

Close your brwoser and open it back up again
reconnect to your internet and see if it works corresctly.

Good Luck.

gus

Dallas,

Thanks, I finally did all that and it works fine now except that for some reason log in is no longer automatic? Probably in my security setting.

I use Firefox except on some sites that won't show photos unless I use IE.

Gus,

I'm glad that worked for you.

Here's the fix to make Firefox save your password, I think. (I'm so sleepy right now, I'll have to reread this in the morning.

Open your FF browser,
Goto Tools,
Goto Options,
Left Click on the 'Privacy' Tab,
Make certain the 'Save Passwords' box is Checked
Next,
Left Click on 'View Saved Passwords'
under the 'Passwords Saved' Tab, See if http://busconversions.com is listed, along with your user ID.
Next,
Left Click on the 'Show Passwords' Box
Left Click on 'Yes'
Make sure your password is saved.
Next,
Left Click on the Tab, 'Passwords Never Saved' and make sure http://busconversions.com is NOT listed.
If it is, remove it by left clicking on the entry
then left clicking on 'Remove'
Left Click 'OK'
Left Click 'OK'
Close Firefox then restart it and go to the BBS and log in.
Firefox should now remember your password.

I hope this helps.
