Long story short: I have a clog in my pickup tube (factory). I pulled the tank, pressure washed it, tried to blow out the pick-up line; she's clogged thanks to me. I plan to make a new plate and fittings to cover an additional vent. Picked up some brass at HD and plazma cut a new 3.375" DIA plate. I plan to weld on the fittings and use this new pick-up as my main fuel intake for the 8v92Ta.

Any suggestions? Is solder acceptable for the tube to fitting?

I'm not familiar with the MCI setup, but I would keep things in their original state. I would also recommend finding out what it was exactly that clogged your pickup tube, otherwise it might happen again. Something might have been missing or altered.

Your tubing copper or steel? You could silver solder it if your worried, although regular acid core solder will work fine with proper cleaning.

Might be easier to just have it dipped and cleaned,,getting two birds with one "dip".>>>Dan
