I thought it's time to jump in. I've been reading the current posts and gone back through about 30 pages of past ones trying to learn. I bought a converted Silver Eagle a couple months ago, 8v71N. The conversion was done by Hercules in Kentucky, titled as a 1988. It was an entertainer coach, no shower or stove but has a pull-out bed in the rear (trundle bed). When I did the title transfer the dmv computer came back as 1988 Silver Eagle but the numbers don't line up with factory eagle chassis numbers. If I get into too many questions ,let me know 'cause right now there are way more questions than I have answers.

Welcome aboard. This is a great bunch of busnuts, including MLI, GM< Prevost, Eagles, etc. There are boards specific to Eagles which may have answers to Eagle specific chassis questions. There are links here as well as Google. Good luck.

Many times they title these buses at the date the conversion is completed ,not necessarily when the bus was made!!

I'm from just outside Pittsburgh Pa. The coach seems to have been from Maryland after conversion. I've seen several other conversion sites but this one seems the most active with a lot of input on all the coach systems. Thanks for having me.

I hope you checked the factory VIN plate, it's located (usually) in the fire extinguisher & first aid compartment in the right side of the dash next to the entry door. The plate would be riveted on the driver side wall of the compartment. Some years in the eighties had the plate on the left wall above the drivers head. The converters might have altered the location or added their own plate. Did your bus come with an original Eagle manual? It will come in handy, and it would be good to have any materials from the converter. If your engine is a 8V71, it might not be an 1988, but something older. Pictures will help us identify what you have. What transmission do you have?
